Importing and enriching data in Inven

Quickly upload and enhance your company lists in Inven.

What You Need to Import:

  • An Excel file with a single sheet.
  • Must have: a column containing only website addresses (URLs). This is the only mandatory field. While LinkedIn URLs are helpful, Inven primarily uses the website to find and enrich data.
  • Keep your file simple: one sheet, one website URL column. Avoid extra tabs or columns that aren't website URLs (like LinkedIn profiles, though a dedicated LinkedIn URL column can be used if you have it, the website is a must-have field).

How to Import and Enrich:

  1. Create a List: In Inven, make a new project or list for your import.
  2. Upload File: Use the import function in your new list to upload your prepared Excel file.
  3. Automatic Enrichment: Inven automatically finds the website URL column, matches the companies, and enriches your data with additional details.
  4. Export Enriched Data: Once the process is done, export the enriched data back to an Excel file.

Work with Your Imported List:

Once your list is imported, you can also easily apply filters:

  • Search within the list: Use the "Search within a saved list" filter (found bottom left of the filter panel in the search Modules) to filter for companies specifically within this new list that you've added.
  • Exclude from results: In other searches, use the "Exclude from results" filter (bottom left of the filter panel) to hide companies that are already in this imported list (or any other saved list), preventing duplicates in your prospecting.
